Outdoor

Groups that help disabled experience the great outdoors.

Fryerning Fisheries

Fryerning Fisheries is home to some of the finest carp fishing lakes in the country. Set amidst our beautiful 200 acre country estate, we have 3 idyllic carp fishing lakes all heavily stocked with stunning home reared Leney Redmire carp.

From the nonstop, rod bending action of our Car Park lake, to bagging up with 20’s and 30’s on the Valley Lake or you can pit your wits against our huge head of 30’s, 17 x 40’s and 4 x 50’s in our Main Lake! We have something for everyone.

Langley Dam Fishery

Welcome to Langley Dam Fishery

Over the last 30 years Langley Dam has become one of the North East’s premier fly fisheries.

Langley consistently offers some of the best trout fly fishing in Northumberland.

Located 8 miles west of Hexham in the beautiful Northumbrian hills, it offers great value sport with predominantly rainbow trout and a mix of brown, blue and tiger trout. Our stock fish are from 1½ to 6lbs, with bigger fish from 10lbs to 18lbs stocked regularly. Our fish come from Invicta trout in Dumfries.

Aerobility

A User Led Organisation ("ULO"), Aerobility is run largely by disabled aviators, for disabled people. Through various fundraising initiatives and careful management strategies we allow disabled people to fly for a fraction of the commercial rate.

Aerobility also provides advice, knowledge and advocacy for disabled people who wish to fly, and is the representative body for disabled aviation within the UK.

Fir Tree Fishery

Fir Tree Fishery is one of only a few fully disabled access fishing venues in the country that prides itself on delivering rehabilitation events for people who have not been able to access angling.

Rehabilitation through Angling

Fir Tree Fishery has been working closely with a number of charities and disability support groups such as The British Disabled Angling Association, Think Ahead Community Stroke Group and Hunter Lodge Brain Injury Support Group, developing rehabilitation events to make angling accessible to everyone.

Abberton Reservoir BOMA

Just like the Colchester Highwoods BOMA, if you are a lover of the countryside but cant get out into it as easily as you'd like, whether on account of disability, injury or older age, the Boma 7 is here for your use (enquiries from individuals and groups are all welcome).

New BOMA users should use it within the walking area by the Abberton Reservoir Visitor Centre.

When you are confident you can get out and try the Lord Woodmouse Trail. Maps detailing the route are provided in the Visitor Centre.
