British Wheelchair Archery - Stoke Mandeville

Description:

The British Wheelchair Archery Association is here to help promote the sport of para-archery and assists with all aspects of the sport from grassroots information to elite level training.

New archers are encouraged to join a local archery club to receive coaching and gain experience. Once the archer has their own equipment they are encouraged to attend a archery training weekend at Stoke Mandeville.

Our Training weekends number approximately 6 between October and April where expert coaching and advice is given by dedicated archery coaches and also provides access to physiotherapists and classifiers to ensure that you can get the best out of your archery. All disabled archers are welcome whether a novice or a seasoned pro.

Training weekends also provide an opportunity to network with other para-archers from around the country, make new friends and also lots of new links into the sport of archery which are invaluable. You will often end up rubbing shoulders with members of the Paralympic GB archery squad and their coaches too.

Members of our association also help introduce new people to archery through helping out at the Inter-Spinal Unit Games and the Junior Championships which are held annually at Stoke Mandeville.

We also have an amazing annual tournament in June that gives our membership the opportunity to experience what it is like to shoot against some of the World’s best para-archers, including our very own Paralympic GB archery team. It also incorporates our National Championships too and is a great event to attend.
