Glasgow Wheelchair Rugby Club

Description

Glasgow Wheelchair Rugby is Scotland’s only full contact wheelchair rugby club. Based in Glasgow, the club is made up of two teams: The Caledonian Crushers (adult team) and The Caledonian Clan (junior team). Wheelchair rugby is an exciting, fun, and fast-paced sport where there can be a role in the team for those with the least amount of physical function. The club is open to both sexes and ages eight upward. To qualify to play competitively, players must have a disability affecting their arms and legs, although there are no restrictions for anyone who would like to join training for fitness benefits. The club is committed to inclusivity and wants to ensure every player has the opportunity to play in a competitive match.

Glasgow Wheelchair Rugby Club provides a welcoming environment for wheelchair rugby. They seek enthusiastic volunteers for various roles and offer opportunities to learn about the sport, including coaching or officiating through courses run by GBWR. The club also engages in community outreach and fundraising events.
