The Leicester Cobras Wheelchair Basketball Club was formed on March 3, 1992, by a group of disabled friends passionate about wheelchair basketball. Now a Registered Charity, the club has grown significantly in numbers, strength, skills, and expertise, welcoming members aged 12 and above. Membership is inclusive, open to juniors, adults, males, females, disabled, and able-bodied players. The Cobras are a leading wheelchair basketball league club in Leicestershire, competing in the British Wheelchair Basketball (BWB) National League and actively working to expand opportunities across the region.

Regular group meeting times
Currently on Thursday evenings: Leicester Cobras-2 – 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm (full court); Crossover Sessions – 8:30 pm to 9:00 pm (full court); Leicester Cobras-1 – 9:00 pm to 10:30 pm (full court).
